Training Courses

The Nishino Breathing Method is an exercise that anyone can start regardless of age or sports history.  Self-study is possible to some extent, but it has its limitations.  In order to reach a certain level, the challenge is how to eliminate unnecessary habits and how to faithfully reproduce the basics.

For this purpose, we place great importance on the proper form for all the basic breathing exercises.  Since March, 2023, we have introduced special classes to review the practices of all our students.  We have been amazed by how quickly students improved their skills in Taiki because of their improvement in breathing exercises.  Taiki has become an important barometer to judge each student’s proficiency level.

Another important initiative is the introduction of the Assistant Instructor System.  At the Headquarters, there are more than sixty trained Assistant and Junior Assistant Instructors who support daily practice.  This gives every student more chances to practice Taiki and it gives advanced students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the method.

Here lies the shortest and most effective method for your improvement.  We warmly welcome you to experience the exciting and joyful training at our Headquarters in Shibuya, Tokyo.

Each lesson is two hours long.  There are no classes on the 29th, 30th, and 31st of every month as well as during New Year’s and Summer holidays.

Regular Course

Skill Level

There's no distinction made based on training history or skill level.  Everyone, from beginners to experienced practitioners, attends the same class.

Language

Classes are conducted in Japanese.  We are happy to provide an orientation in English for first-time attendees.

Intensive Courses for Those Living Overseas

Private or semi-private lessons with English-speaking Head Coaches are available, especially for those visiting from overseas.  There are Beginner and Intermediate Courses.  Students receive explanation in English during the first half of the class and practice Taiki exercise in the second half together with Regular Class students.

Certified Instructor Training Course

This program is designed for trainees who have completed both the Beginner and Intermediate Courses at our Headquarters.  Following that, trainees are expected to practice independently or to attend the Regular Course for a couple of years (the duration varies depending on individual progress).  To take the Certified Instructor Training Course, recommendations from Headquarters are necessary.  Qualified trainees are required to take Certified Instructor Examinations to demonstrate their proficiency in Training Exercises 1~20 described in this manual (including English explanations), as well as their skill in Taiki practice.  An organization operated by a Certified Instructor is eligible to join the global network of the Certified Organizations of the Nishino Breathing Method.
